I think it's safe to use, even if it short cuts i doubt the voltage or ampere will be high enough to really hurt you.
Hmmm guess I could just tape a plastic bag round it for a bit of protection.

I'm off to a folk festival tomorrow but theres rain forecast for the afternoon/evening.
I know the K-r is'nt weather-proof, but would a bit of rain/drizzle hurt it all that much so long as I don't stand around in it all the time?

BTW Woj, sorry about my mistake, I didn't spot that you were the same 'newbie from stafford' that uploaded the 'Woj' picture! Makes me look a bit daft!
Regards
David
PS - what makes you think the image quality of your 28mm is 'pretty shocking'?
Oh, I dunno perhaps its my focusing thats not quite right on some shots, but that lens seems to have a fairly bad 'haze' or something when fully opened. Stopped down it's better though.
Thinking about it, it's probably more the fact I resent the lens because it nearly became stuck to my brand new camera! Thank god a bit of googling helped - turns out I had to remove some sort of little pin on it because it's a slightly different type of mount for old ricoh camera's.
Scared the hell out of me...

Yea but that pic is edited a fair bit ... I better not post the one straight from the camera
Actualy I forgot to check. For the gallery, is that meant to be for pic's uploaded unprocessed? Or is it not that strict?

New to photography and DSLR's, but I'm sure I'll enjoy learning. Just got myself a K-r and loving it.
First challenge I'm setting myself is to learn manual focusing and using prime lenses...so I picked up an old "Sirius 28mm F2.8" from a local market for a couple of quid, image quality is pretty shocking but meh, oh well
