Nice picture. How are you finding the GW-3 converter on the GR. It looks super here. Did you add the vingette top left, or is that the lens?
Hey weinelm, this converter lens is just as good as any other wide angle lens. It performs really well across the frame at all apertures and is sharp. RICOH have always made great lenses like this that perform really well with they're cameras.
No vignette was applied in this scene, it's just the look of the sky...
Although, there is a very very very slight vignette added to a scene when the 'Ambient Brightness' mode is set to 'Original'.
Anyway, this mode sure does correct the 'concentric ring artifact' issue. You can now pull-process an underexposed scene to your heart's content and not have any worries that this will occur, even in RAW files...we can now turn 'night into day' and not see any 'rings'.
Thanks for the feeback. I might look at getting the GW-3 from SRS next time I'm back in the UK. I feel a little guilty, I've barely touched the K5ii since getting the GR It's such a great little camera, I still can't believe how sharp it is!

Thanks, it was a good trip. It very much exceeded my expectations, lots to see and do, but mostly I was surprised at just how friendly and helpful people were. Highly recommended destination.

I travelled to Sri Lanka and the Maldives over Christmas. Of course I took several hundred pictures, but here are a few of my favourites. I took the K5ii with a DA 16-50 and 60-250. As an after thought I also packed the 21/43/70 limiteds to use as compact street kit. Funnily enough I used the limiteds a lot more than I expected. Next trip I might just take primes only. C&C always welcome.

If you click on the "Image" button below the message pane you can upload images directly into the forum. So no need to link to Flikr.
I'll try to do this in future. It just takes a while to upload. It's much quicker to paste the flickr links.

Its a failing of the forum John, that you cannot edit links. If a link gets broken on the Talkxxxxxxphy forum, I can simply go back into my OP and amend the links to the pic
I certainly think this would be a useful feature.

I thought you might be interested Lenny For now I'm still juggling my DA & FA primes in that focal range, so see what kit I like best.

Sorry, don't know whats happening there. The links under the pics still work and flickr says "Anyone can see this photo". Maybe some problem with their website, it doesn't seem to have been super-reliable since the big upgrade.
