I bought a used K10d from SRS almost exactly 6 months ago and guess what this week it packed up I looked but couldnt find the reciept.

at the time I bought it I was unsure whether to buy one of here or maybe ebay but chose SRS as I had heard they were a good bunch and offerd a 6 month warrenty .

I rang SRS expained the situation and the could not have been more friendly and helpfull. I am still in warrenty just but that aside I cannot fault there customer service.

I made the right choice paying slighty more to buy from them . I had been looking around to maybe get a used K20d or K7d body as xmas treat well as of now the only looking I will be doing is on the SRS website

It is a loverly peice of kit with a metal chassis and a nice large front lens .

I will match what this ebay item ends at but mine has a cpl filter and hood.

I think if you put in "studio flash kit" into ebay you would very quickly be able work out what we are talking about.(given the clues above)

Are you really putting it through its paces? Does it compensate when you change the iso or aperture?

The af assist light is very futuristic, eh?
I am using it in p and auto iso (range set between 100-400) so the camera decides all that.

I dont really do much flash photography but I have been taking test shots in varying conditions and the results seem faily consistant at least as consistant as the built in flash.

I am really impressed with the af assist I hate the onboard one and the nasty noise it makes also the time it takes to lock focus and take the shot

Well I didnt get a response here so I bit the bullet and orderd a 900w kit. 3 300w lights ,2 softboxs,2 umbrellas ,barn door ,wireless flash trigger and 3 stands for just under £300

I will let you all know how I get on and what I think of constuction quality ect.

After futher testing it seems fine in P mode it even AF asists in pitch darkness.

I have even gone on to try an old miranda pentax ttl flash with simular results except no AF light so its rubbish in low light situations which is sort of when I need a flash but its great in manual mode.

So my question is why does it say everyware that you canot use ttl flash's with the K10 or later.

am I missing somthing here or do I have a magic k10
