Oh Mark, thank you for such a funny and witty comment. Do you have any more to entertain us here? That badly beaten lens has one dent on hood, sorry it is not up to your high štandards. Thankfully nobody wants you to buy that lens.

Although I havent tried DA*300, i kind of doubt that optically it is worse than F*300.....but I am pretty sure F*300 is more robust (I never handled better constructed lens and that includes DA, M and A* and FA Limiteds and classic Takumars) and in smaller and lighter package. Definitely it is way more rare and gives you feeling of owning something special. And good looking design too

That K3 is tempting but ufortunately import duty and VAT now gets into deal. Still considering, though...

Body shows slight signs of use and there is a dent on hood, but optics are clean and lens is working flawlesly.
600 GBP + shipping may be fair price?

K5IIs is a great camera but difficult to find, K3 is easier to find. Having said that I had K3II and K5IIs and altough I liked lots of features of the newer camera I decided to keep K5IIs.

I am glad, that Pentax keeps that little FAA35 lens alive and is revamping it with new coatings. It used to be first 'expensive' lens I bought and served me well until I went crazy with LBA and replaced it with FA43. In my opinion it's a good move from Pentax to provide fullframe users with inexpensive fast 35mm lens until they engineer new prime.
