Don't get rid of it, it is a great focal length for Portraits.

Oh hold on, get rid of it, give it to me, I will find a very good home for it......
That's the thing, I have a da* 50-135 f2.8.. sharp wide open, nice bokeh and as well as being a zoom it has auto focus but it is a bit large.

The 85 is nice, at f2 though it can have some crazy fringing but seems much better at f2.8 but then my da* 50-135 is already happy there.

Ill just have to play around with it more I guess and see.. I do love the size of it.

I do find M lenses a bit of a pain on a dslr and have sold all my M lenses, an A one would be much preferable
I use the 85mm f2 M lens as an A lens on my k5 by using a bit of foil.

I have had the 85mm f2 for a while now, and while I love its small size and have been pleased with images I get from it.. the lens is mostly left in my bag.

You see I already have the wonderful da* 50-135 f2.8, so If I'm going to use a manual focus prime would the samyang 85mm f1.4 not make more sense since I would be gaining more DoF control and about a stop more light?

Anyway just thought I would ask on here to see what other peoples opinions are.

Here's an image of the lens on my k5.

Great shot, I can see why it has had so many hits.
She's going through a molt then and she had some new feathers down there at the time. They really are bright red for a week or so till they die down a little. But now that you point it out it dose look a little to hot

A nice capture of a fantastic creature.. I love birds but birds of prey scare me a little as I know given 1/2 the chance they would eat my little grey

While I know some people might find this image creapy it wasn't intended to be.. Me and my stepdaughter thought it would be funny to try put her head in a box, as in doll/toy parts.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoy and there's a how to video at the end.
