They both look good to me but I think I might have cropped a bit more off the bottom of the portrait.

I'm starting to go through a load of old slides from about 1990 - 1995 taken with a pentax sfxn and sigma 28 - 50mm and 50 - 210mm lenses and am looking for advice on slide/neg scanners. The one I'm using seems to give a blue cast and blow out the centre of the photo. I realise I can't make a silk purse from a sows ear but I'm sure there may be one or two worth keeping

A couple of samples:

I was never any good at sports, football, rugby and the like but was well able to stop some of those who thought they were good

Cricket: A game for Gentlemen played by Gentlemen.

Football: A game for Gentlemen played by Thugs.

Rugby: A game for Thugs played by Thugs.

But of course that was in the olden days. We're all gentlemen now

Is this a northern trait Stan? (My mum's from Byker)
It could well be. I'm still getting re-aquainted with "Northern" habits because of my peripatetic life style. Originated in North Shields then on to sailing from Aberdeen, Lowestoft, Dubai working 6 months on 45 days off etc. and finally settling in Newbiggin where I'm trying to learn how to take proper photos to put on here and in club contests Oh no mentioned the "P" word

Dog can tend to be a bit "stringy" and get between every tooth

Another expense I'll never need. I've got a few large boxes of snaps and slides up in the loft which I keep meaning to sort out ( take to the local dump ) My wife scanned all the slides onto her laptop once but it died before we could make dvd copies and we lost interest after that. Mainly holiday pics etc so of no interest to anyone else either.
