Every 10yrs? is it The Floriade in Holland?
CHEERS Vic.
Yes it is Vic, and I recommend it if you like walking, it covers a vast area. We got in at 1100hrs and left about 1600hrs and didn't see all of it As Gwyn said in another post it would probably be better (photographically) in another month or two, ( when it stops raining )

To be honest the weather and the light haven't done you any favours here ( IMHO ). Maybe a tweak in Levels and Curves might bring it out a bit?

The background looks like it might have been messy wherever you stood, but maybe standing a little further left, so that "The Dome" was your entire background might have worked better?
Yes Ted, It was one of those days and locations The first shots I took of these girls (deleted) looked like they had been struck by lightning, like taking a flash snap looking in a mirror. The posted pic is a crop of the "best bits"

Is that why they are hanging onto the tree. What about a B&W conversion? Tone down the background and highlight the figures
That's right Barrie. I'll try a b&w conversion, this event is on every 10years I belive so lots of time to practice getting it right using the camera

Because of the weather, sudden gusty wind and rain, I was surprised these girls were appearing on stilts.

C & C welcome, especially hints on background improvements

Just back from Holland. Floriade far too spread out for what it was, best exhibit, the hot house with some nice flowers and things. Lots of rain in Valkenburg but the Velvet cave was dry, think I got some photos of some drawings on the wall withe the aid of the tour guides tilley lamp and the iso set to 1600. The most "would like to go back to" is Marken. Volendam has decided there are far too many tourist so have put hydraulic bollards at the entrance to the main car/coach park, they operat on a half hour cycle, open for half an hour then shut for half an hour. We didn't stay so no idea if it's a nice place or not.
Now to download the photos and format the sd cards.

Never mind Stan - you get a North Sea cruise .

Just checked the shipping forecast and its only force 5 - 7 moderating later in the areas we should cross so we'll not even know we are at sea
Probably means the restaurant will be full though
Looked at the weather forecast for Valkenburg and it's wooly hat weather I think, I've also packed a long sleeved shirt just in case

The was a legend that in St Georges's Hospital in Morpeth there was a special ward just for Brown Ale drinkers

Is that the same as Newcastle Brown Ale ? In the pubs I frequented as a young lad it was called Journey into Space or Lunatics Soup well named at that price

For just about anything you can possibly think of, someone, or something, holds a world record! Be it from the most cornflakes eaten whilst reading a morning paper on a tuesday between 7am and noon, or the most times a bald person has been to church when it is raining - the list must be endless?
Just occured to me for no reason.
Spike Milligan published a book about records and in the back was a place to enter your own, mine was "the first person to eat a portion of chocolate orange at a certain latitude and longitude" unfortunately lost this book, and probably not the first or only.
