i noticed the distortion too, should have bought the Pentax-F 28-80

Why is it so grainy, is that the scanner?
It's probably grainy because it was "scanned" with a very cheap slide copier and the age/quality of the original. The camera, SFXn, was my first "proper" camera bought with, I suppose at the time, the two "kit" lenses Sigma 28-50 (may have been 55) and 50-210 autofocus and so modern I also acquired in 1993/94 ? for £2 at a camera club auction a Pentax 50mm 1.7 F which I still have. Due to work I lost interest in photography about then and have only recently decided to take it up again
as a hobby.

I'm usually too busy to deal with tradesmen, I leave that sort of thing to the Financial Controller aka Mrs Snap

As far as I can see there is vertical and horizontal perspective distortion and some lens pincushion distortion. Symmetry would have been ideal but that's going to be very tricky now. I would try to level it up but it's going to leave those busts right at the edge of frame. I'd say do what you can so it's easier on the eye but don't go too far cutting off the busts.
Too late, the busts are gone. Having had another "go" at it I think I needed to be a few steps to the right to get the lights lined up with the curtains. It is fun trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear

I do appreciate the feedback.

Hi Stan, couple of things

I'd crop the RH side so there is symmetry with the busts either side.

Then the lights. It looks like where they anchor to the ceiling has accidently been missed off. Either get it all in or be bolder in the crop so it looks like it been a deliberate crop
Yes, symmetry, I can see that now, also the light anchor is missed off so a deeper crop needed.

I think for this to work you have to have perfect symmetry and be dead level which you could easily sort

Is it your living room?
Having the camera on a tripod might have helped as well.

No it's not my living room it's the tradesman's waiting area just inside the back door
To be honest I can't remember where it is except it's not in the UK

Thanks for the useful comments, I can play about a bit now.

This is a scan of a slide I took about about 1989-91 using a Pentax SFXn and Sigma 28-50mm. Converted to B&W. Obviously can't do a thing about the image quality but comments on the general composition would be welcome, as that's another of my failings

Thanks for that Barrie. Have ordered it so another toy to play with. When I get fed up with it I can sell it again including a "Free Lens" so it should fly off the shelf
I have ffordes bookmarked and often have a browse but I last looked under converters so didn't spot that one.

Still looking but only half-heartedly. As the lens was free and it's the only Adaptall 2 lens I have.
