I'm hoping to get an adapter setup on each so the K mounting will be seamless.
As far as I know, you can't remover the adapter and lens together. First you unscrew the lens, then remove the adapter from the body with a small 'spanner' which is usually supplied with the adapter.
and fishing the thing off the body when I want the kit lens on..
I spose a fitting that contained the k mount mechanism would be thick and thus stuff up lens location...?

The Super Tak 28 mm f3.5 is reckoned to be a good 'un....
So, I'd put that to good use on the Spottie with a nice B&W film...
am interested in trying some reverse lens macro.
The 360 Schneider is going to be fun
You are not wrong about shooting some film in the Spotmatic...
an B&W already has me engaged digitally

I guess if you like using manual lenses its a good buy. You will also need an adapter to if you plan on using them on your new K100D/K10
I had an old spottie and a couple of lenses given to me when i first got my K100D. Haven't purchased the adapter as yet.

Will get the kit zoom too

I may resell the camera and a 55 to recoup a bit.

and the kit lens if I can stretch that far
finding the whole Pentax lens lineage thing most interesting !

Yep i know the prime thing its just the way I wrote it ...
will attempt to be clearer
i meant a manual everything lens which is all i have used...
kind of strange to be changing aperture on the camera body
spose I can get used to it

As I contemplate a K100D purchase on a budget
I have started to gather about me a nice old prime or two
I see the 80-200 4.5 has had a few good reviews...
But is it a good idea for the K100...
is the downside of no auto more trouble with zooms so I should get the DA 50-200 ?
use would include a motor cycle meet...auto focus might be the killer app there ?

Has anyone ever made a wee tutorial for it ?
My experience of 'voila!' in the past has been variable
I am sure that if you asked him, Don would advise the following:
1 Remove the little springy strip on the adapter that locks it onto the body.
2 Glue the adapter to the lens. (You'll need one per lens.)
3 Drill a shallow hole in the base of the lens so that it, rather than the adapter, locks onto the body.
Voila, you have a bayonet-mount SMC Takumar.
