Hi all!

Just a quick update re "Immersive", my book on ocean based Intentional Camera Movement. The book is all printed, signed and shipping! It looks wonderful - am fiercely proud of it. I was down at Kozu Books ten days or so ago - all the Standard Editions have already been shipped, and the Special and Collectors Editions are in the post this week!

Thanks so much again to all round these parts of who've supported the project... hugely appreciated my end...

The Irix 15mm Firefly/Blackstone are on special offer via the Irix website at the mo, too… great lenses which I’ve had before, but would prefer a Pentax 20mm due to size…

I also used to have the A 20mm 2.8, but passed it on due to lack of use when I got the FA version…

Now then. Some exciting news! I’m absolutely delighted to announce the launch of “IMMERSIVE”, my very first book with Kozu Books! Pre-Orders are now open at Kozu Books!

“IMMERSIVE” is my pioneering Ocean ICM project, a groundbreaking 4 year investigation into water, energy and movement, and what happens when you physically get into the sea with a wetsuit, waterproof housing and a moving camera, and become literally immersed within the very thing you’re photographing. As I think you might know, I've been a Pentax Ambassador here in the UK since 2014, so all the photographs were made with Pentax Cameras, primarily the Pentax K3, K3III, K1 and K-01, with EWA Marine Waterproof Housing.




A surfer for over 30 years, I’ve long been interested in the energy of the ocean, and what happens when that energy transfers itself to the land. As you’ll also probably know if you’re here, I’ve also been full on investigating Intentional Camera Movement in all its glory since 2012.

A few years ago I started to wonder what might happen if I put my two very favourite things together, and put a moving camera into the path of a breaking wave. This book is a celebration of, and a meditation on, the results… the visceral sensation of being not just an observer of Poseidon’s watery kingdom, looking on from the outside, but an active participant.

All the photographs in this collection were taken with long exposures and a moving camera out amongst the breaking waves in, on, or underneath the ocean with Pentax DSLRs, C-Skin wetsuits and EWA-Marine Waterproof Housing.










With an absolutely beautiful foreword by @doug_chinnery, for which I’m extraordinarily grateful, I’ve been quietly beavering away on this 88 page, 5 Chapter hardbacked beauty with the brilliant Greg Stewart at Kozu Books since January. I’m absolutely delighted with the result.

Lee, so glad you were able to spend some time there and soak it all up… one of the things that really struck me about it was the sheer diversity of the work on display… landscape, seascape, travel, portrait, urban, all sorts of genres…
