If I was working up there I would always go A69/M74/M8 to Erskine Bridge. Less chance of being held up by wagons and heavy traffic.
Thanks Barrie, Glasgow it is. So what is good to see along the journey from Glasgow onwards and where good to eat preferably Veggie friendly

Cedric, I will not be going till Sept, just booking accommodation along the way, hunting for bargain accommodation. I'm hoping at least to get a good look at Golden & Sea eagles, otters and if I'm really lucky Orcha. We are staying near Digg initially so I intend to try and bag the Troternish ridge, have tent will travel.

If the Glasgow route is preferable, Newcastle, I will pick the other half up from Work. I have now tried three route finders each giving varied routes.

Ok folks, I'm trying to make a decision and it hurts . I have spent the last two hours trying to plan the best rout to Skye from NE England or more to the point Newcastle. I intend to do the journey in two half's stopping at ether Glasgow or just beyond Edinburgh on the first leg. So this is the question is it better to go via Glasgow to Fort William or Shoot up the M90 and across via Pitlochry?

Directionally confused

Kathryn Tickell is the finest Northumbrian piper I've ever heard and quite a mean jazz musician as well.
Can't say I'm a connoisseur but she was a contributor on the "Sunday For Sammy 2010" DVD that was a present yesterday.
For pipes try the "debatable lands"

The Scottish small pipes are not too painful. When I was younger my doctor told me taking up a wind instrument would help with my asthma, so for some misguided reason I chose the bag pipes. My parents loved this instrument so much I was sent to the industrial estate to practice, standing underneath the huge blast proof doors of the old WWII bomb factory, but I was not alone, you could hear strains of other sad & rejected individuals playing stationed at different & distant entrances of this huge complex. Surprisingly I leave all the music making to my greatly talented spouse.

P.s there is a place reserved on the seventh level of hell for vuvuzela players, for your enjoyment link

Just seen this thread for the first time I must have missed it, a great montage. I especially like the way each image stands on its own within the set due to the different tonal effects but as a whole the images does not clash.

Some very nice Autumn colours and well lit. I wonder if it would benefit from a square crop and removing some of that space to the right, also I find the left leaf edge a little too soft for my liking IMO.

As ever this is just my view and it caught my attention making me stop and look a while.

Microsoft have coined the phrase "Patch Tuesday" the second Tuesday of each month, where they release a bulk pack of patched. A note for Algi, Microsoft are stopping all support for any XP system that does not have SP3 installed after next month.

Regarding Logitec marble mice, I have three of these at work and they all seem quite happy with Windows 7, have you downloaded the latest SetPoint software link
