Sadly I haven't ever had the opportunity to say to a client 'do you mind if I bring my guide dog on the shoot?'

Yesterday I had a letter from the owner of Hudson one of previous pups including some photos. At first I thought these
Are amongst the worst pictures I've ever seen and then remembered he was blind
Sorry - I'm sitting here laughing

That's one of the best things I've read for a while

We seem to have done what we all do best - got you thoroughly bemused.

OK - suggestion - as was made up thread

get weight of your camera and the heaviest lens you have

Now check each tripod that interested you - and check it will take that weight [ and a bit more for good luck ]

If the one you want won't - then check the next one till you get match of camera+ lens and tripod

Simples - all you have to do is pay for it OH and remember to get a spare Plate or two

My New York pal has a RED one - as he says he can spot it easily

He also has a Brian - but the BackPacker is the one he uses when he's going away - has a nice wee case too .

I can't help feeling I got a real bargain - the first one I tried for was £129 and I see they are all around the £100 mark now . Mine arrived at the beginning of January .

There are also other models of MeFoto tripods too - to suit all pockets and usage

I have a MeFoto Backpacker - in PURPLE

link

I bought mine from SmartShop via Amazon - and actually it was my second attempt to get one - stocks ran out the first time. This time it was advertised at £59 and included 3 Arca Swiss QR Plates !!

The total I paid was £64 and a few pence instead of £100

I'm one happy bunny there's a plate on the K30 now and I won't need to take it [ the tripod] to New York this summer as I can use one of the tripods there , should I need one

I'm told that in the USA the rot set in after their acquisition by Ritz .

From then on it very very much depended on the staff in the particular store.

New York , I'm told was hit badly by this , staff attitude changed markedly and the staff kept changing , workshops were not as good - and with another 2 good stores on the same street - well you can imagine what happened.
