I use Lithium in my Kx with the updated firmware but was still only getting about 100 - 150 shots per set. In desperation I cleaned all the battery terminals in the camera using a cotton bud and Isopropanoyl Alcohol and refitted the supposedly spent batteries and the meter shot to the green and I have taken another 600 shots so far and still in the green.

I can only assume that there was a good helping of manufacturing grease or oil on the terminals, it is certainly worth a try.

I got mine in December from Pixmania with the 18-55 lens, a Pentax case, a 4GB card and a Sanyo battery charger with 4 Eneloop batteries for £420. I must admit I was a bit concerned but it arrived OK with all warranties, a bargain I thought, oh and it was a black one.

I have CS2 which wont open PEF files off my Kx but will open PEF from my K100d, I have been told that the K7 and Kx can't be opened unless you have CS4 or of course Lightroom or the Pentax Silkypix.

I also only use the Energiser Lithium batteries. I used to get nearly 1000 shots on my K100d and on my new KX have shot over 500 images so far on part used lithiums.

I would recommend updating the Firmware as soon as possible.

For anyone in the UK Sainsburys are selling Energiser Lithiums for £3.99 for a pack of 4, a £3 saving on most places.
