As it will probably just a few of us (being probably under 15) I won't need to pre-book any tables. The food is quite good in there and I think they serve either 'til 20:00 or 21:00.

I think it is something that we all have to face. I know that so far I have not had any officer question my intentions and I feel I have not put myself in any position where an officer of the law has ever needed to question my intentions or activities.

I think they raise a good point that if a terrorist was to prepare any attack they would want to pose as a tourist rather than use say a DSLR with a large telefocal lens. I don't know what training or guidelines the police are given but I know they would be related to the level of risk the authorities feel the UK is under from attack. I can see it looks heavy handed and I am glad to hear that the officers did try to deal with the situation carefully knowing they had to stop all photographers.

No problem RR, we probably will bump into each other either at a meet or group shoot for WFC. If the 17th is successful then a second meet could be on the cards too! I am working on the basis Sunday is the day in the week with the most open diary for most people!

I am proposing provisionally (I think my weekends are safe with work but I cannot garuntee it!) to say around 18:30 at the Pub on the Pond in Swansea (Oystermouth Road by Swansea Uni's main campus) on Sunday 17th January 2010. There is onsite parking, good food and it has a friendly atmosphere (any Flickr WFC members will know it from Swansea meets held there). So far I have the following list:

I really like the idea and if it could be done those going would get a lot from it. I woulod struggle to get enough money I know as times are tight and it is an idea definately to keep open for when it is more plausable moneywise for many forum members.

I need to source a suitable location (well a pub) with good parking so I am thinking Pub on the Pond might be good for most people and it has it's own car park too.

I have tried before to see if Pentax Users in South Wales would want to meet up (to which I had things come up that stopped it all then) and I am wondering if there is still interest. If anyone would be up for meeting around late Jan/early Feb in 2010 in Swansea please PM me or reply on this thread.
