The Pentax 50mm f/1.8 is a fantastic bargain these days, so no better low cost option in 50mm lenses I think.
Cheers! Maybe I could get the wife to treat me for xmas

Quick question. Are these better then the ones jessops are selling cheap or "the same but different"? Thinking of having a try with a 50mm prime but not sure what to do on a limited budget. Any advice great fully received!!

Is it straight forward to use older lenses on a kx?

Yes! You must set the menu option 'Use Aperture Ring' to the 'Permitted' setting and then away you go! It tests your eyesight and your focussing skill, but that's where the fun lies!

Hi
I'm new here & after a bit of advice him very much an amateur hobby photographer using a pentax kx. I'm thinking of buying a prime lens to have a go at getting some nice sharp shots & having a go at the blurry background. I'm operating on a budget & am considering the two lenses above. For general photography & portrait work. Any advice great fully recieved. Many thanks.
