I got one a couple of weeks back, just the standard prime version. I really have enjoyed using it every day. It fits in my coat pocket, and I put a wrist strap on it rather than a shoulder strap, which seems to suit it better; it seems less awkward.. I was worried I was throwing £320 quid at an expensive compact, but I must say it's definitely a much better functioning camera than any compact I have used and owned. In comparison to my other cameras, the Image quality is poorer than my Olympus E-PM1 at higher ISO, and it's about a million miles away from the K-5, but that was expected, but all the results have been very reasonable, and the camera is a pleasure to use. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with this little gem of a camera John.

You are absolutely right. We don't know the specs of the OM-D yet, and very likely it will not be restricted to OM functionality. It's impressive however, how Olympus marketing teams get this 'nostalgia' idea so spot on with the PEN range.... they are top of the market share with mirrorless, and the iconic look of the recreated PEN's have made every other manufacturer of cameras change direction. Fuji followed suit, as did Pentax with the Q. If the OM-D is what many think, and is weathersealed, with the usual flourish of Olympus innovations, then it's likely to catch a big portion of the market. Others will follow....Can't wait to one day see the Nikkormat Ft-D hit the shelves LOL

Lets see what happens. I've found the Lancaster Uni site accurate up to now, and its based on up to date readings from its base in Scotland, but its horrid thick low cloud here in my part of England tonight, so it could be an amazing show above, but we'd never know. She is a talented 'artist' granted, but I wonder how she stands with the copyright issues on her chosen images. Maybe she sought permission from the copyright owners, but I doubt that would have been given, especially as she is hoping to spring her business forward with these examples. I think the historical images and portraits much better than the 'sensational' ones. The burning monk and execution images were a tad tasteless as subject matter, given the wealth of historical images out there, especially if trying to promote a business.
Interesting to view though, for sure.

We had a great day out, braved the 60mph winds and horizontal rain. Everyone got a lot out of it, had a great walk, talked photography, and we finished up with a pint and some chips at The Fox House Inn.

I had the only weatherproof camera, and the only Pentax.

Judging by the weather report for tomorrow in the Peaks, I might be the only one able to get my camera out.

Alongside my K-5 I'm also taking my Woca (Holga by another name) 120 GF film camera along loaded with Provia 100.

I'm out tomorrow to meet with a group of Photographers in the Peak District. I'm taking my K-5.... obviously, and really don't care what the weathers like (I have my waterproof's ready, and polished my boots)

I'm open to surprises, but I have a hunch I'll be the only Pentax user in a field of CaNikSony's.
