I am looking to buy a Tamron 28-80mm lens for my K100D, but I noticed that the bayonet on the rear of the lens is made of plastic and not metal.
The reason I am asking this question is that I am not sure whether plastic will handle the frequent 'On - Off' as a metal one. What is the forums views on theses mounts.

Many, many thanks to all who have taken the trouble to reply to the original post.
Having checked the firmware version of my K100D which is running on ver:1.00. I believe I need to download the firmware upgrade which is now v:1.2. Once I have the courage to do this it should make my K100D fully compatable with SDHC cards.
I am learning more and more every day thanks to the Pentax Users Forum.

A very merry christmas and a happy new year to everyone ....... Spamcan

The TAMRON lens is a dedicated lens, not "adaptall".
The lens it'self must be over 12 yrs old.

Having just purchased my first DSLR (K100D) a few weeks ago, I am curious to whether I could us a Tamron lens from my old Praktica BC1 film camera. I know I will have to get a adapter ring, but, does such an animal actually exsist?? ( Practica / Pentax)

I have installed the trial version of Paint Shop X2, only have 34 days left.
Having used Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 I must say that I am using Corel Paintshop X2 even more. Adobe might very well be the industry standard, but I for one cannot justify the high price tag.
Corel Paintshop X2 is a fantastic editing program and one which I intend to purchase once the trial period has expired.
Oh, I almost forgot, one handy little feature that Adobe does not have over Corel is the "Clarify" tag....brilliant and extremely handy.
