Update:

Now only 15 more pledges needed and six days left in which to make this lens a reality, before it's too late

Has anyone else seen the Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens that's currently being crowd funded on kickstarter?

From the video and details it looks really intriguing! It's a copy of the lens that took the first ever photo of a human, back in 1839, and it creates some beautiful effects.

I've just pledged to buy a brass copy (which looks beautiful) at $415 delivered - about £290 - but I notice that it needs just another 20 pledges to get made. The pledges are needed by Tuesday 10th May or the 50 minimum copies won't be made!! So, if you'd like one of these beauties to play with go immediately to Kickstarter! Surely a rare future collectible too...? Failure to achieve 50 pledges will result in a refund and much sadness from me.

Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lomography/the-lomography-daguerreotype-ach...

Make sure you scroll down the page until you see the Pentax brass version at $400.

I'd add the 35mm macro Limited to your pixie dust list there, I have one and it's a beauty. I can vouch for the 77 Limited too, I bought the copy John used in his online review

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

@ bettyswollocks - I did what you suggested but it makes no diff, still counting upwards!!! Like you say it's late and I'll try again tomorrow. Could do with a beer myself instead of this hassle

Bob, thanks for the tip - will investigate that in the morning

Errr - well, I just fitted a new virgin fresh out the packet SD card, formatted it and pressed the shutter release and my camera screen tells me I'm on shot 872

All I can say about SRS is that they are a fantastic and very helpful bunch, and more power to their collective elbows!

If the hundred quid offer had not been extended I would not now be gloating over a lovely new K5ii body for the nett sum of £629, which has to be the bargain of the decade. And yes, I mentioned my membership here and received free delivery - they even arranged free pick up of my trade in *cough* camera (via the local charity shop for two quid...) I call that going above and beyond, and I'm happy to recommend them any time.

Regarding the extension of the offer it's great that it has been such a success in helping even more of us access great Pentax kit. And it's the same with anything in life - prices can go down as well as up. It's a risk we sign up to whenever we make a purchase, be it a loaf of bread, a camera or a house! Question is, were we happy about the price on the day of purchase? If the answer is yes, that's all that counts.

I just seem to have managed to add 870 phantom actuations to my brand new K5ii body

On receipt from SRS I fitted my trusty 35mm Limited macro and slipped in an SD card from my K-r body thinking it was already formatted and good to go. I pressed the shutter release to do a quick test shot and voila - my new K5ii thinks it's on actuation number 871 after only ONE shot (my K-r had counted to 870)

Is there any way I can reset things? I'd have imagined the counter would base itself on physical actuations rather than external data from an SD card. I'll be bloody annoyed if I can't reset it to what it ought to be, and I can't see any info in the manual. There is mention of formatting a card, but nowhere does it warn of this potential outcome.

HELP!!
