Continuing my clear out of some lenses to make space and raise funds for an FA77 ltd.

For sale is my S-M-C Takumar 300mm f/4. I've had it for about 18 months, but have found that I don't really use long telephotos much and have the range covered by other lenses.

It's in good condition with signs of careful use, as shown in the pictures. There are a couple of minor marks to the paint on the focus ring and a small dent on the rim of the built-in hood (as shown in the photos). The optics are in very good shape, with no scratches, marks or fungus, but a few specks of internal dust - nothing unusual for a lens of this age or that would affect image quality.

It is supplied with the original Pentax caps, tripod mount and case.

Looking at the going rate on eBay, there seems to be quite a range of prices. I think that £125 delivered within the UK is reasonable start, but would be open to offers. I'd also be happy to investigate postage options to send it further afield if required. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (with the buyer covering the fees) please.

I'm having a clear out of some of my lenses to make space and raise funds for an FA77 ltd.

For sale is my SMC-M 135/3.5. I've had it for about 2 years, but find it a bit too long for my needs.

It's in good condition with signs of careful use, as shown in the pictures. There are a few marks to the paint on the rim of the filter ring (visible in the pictures) and slight rubbing to the aperture ring. The optics are in very good shape, with no scratches, marks or fungus, but one or two specks of internal dust - nothing unusual for a lens of this age or that would affect image quality.

It is supplied with a Pentax rear lens cap and an aftermarket front cap. I'd be happy to include a UV filter as well if you'd like one.

Looking at the going rate on eBay, I think that £35 delivered within the UK is reasonable and I'd be happy to investigate postage options to send it further afield if required. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (with the buyer covering the fees).

I'm having a clear out of some of my lenses to make space and raise funds for an FA77 ltd.

For sale is my FA50/1.4. I've had it for about 18 months, but have also had an FA43 for the past 10 months, which I find I prefer.

It's in excellent condition, as shown in the pictures. The only real sign of use is some rubbing to the front lens cap where I put it on top of a filter case in its compartment in my camera bag. The optics are in excellent shape, with no scratches, marks or fungus.

It is supplied with the original packing, documentation and lens caps. I'd be happy to include a UV filter as well if you'd like one.

Looking at the going rate on eBay, I think that £250 delivered within the UK is reasonable and I'd be happy to investigate postage options to send it further afield if required. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (with the buyer covering the fees).

I'm not sure a polariser is a good idea on an ultrawide lens anyway.

I've never tried it, but as I understand it, the polarising effect will vary across the frame, so in a landscape, you'll end up with light/dark patches in the sky.

This is because the degree of polarisation produced by the filter varies with angle from the light source (e.g. the sun) and so an ultrawide lens with a large angle of view will show a visible range of variation across the frame.

Polarisers show this effect with all lenses, it's just that it's most visible on lenses with the widest angle of view.

I have the Sigma, and it is a stunner.
Me too (also the pre-DG version) and I'd concur. I think the received wisdom that there is no such thing as a bad macro lens holds true in my experience (Sigma 105, Tamron 90 and Komine/Kiron 90-ish lenses). I'm sure both the Sigma and Pentax are excellent lenses and would be more than happy with either.

Interesting. I've got an SMC Takumar 35/3.5 which, I believe, is optically identical.

I didn't get on well with it (difficult to focus accurately), but it looks like it might be worth persevering with.
