Seen a few on ebay go cheaper, but then its a gamble.

So dead chuffed when i managed to get through all the packaging with this one from Rob. Not sure how old these lenses are, but it looks pretty new!

One question, does it matter if the K-m is set on AF with this lens? It seems more inclined to tell you when it is in focus in AF.

Saw a non-EX DG go on ebay for £170 the other day. Bargain, but not sure how much less it is worth to not have the Digital version?

I managed to find both my hoods for kit lens for a tenner. There were a few shops selling, just gotta look hard. Most places seem to sell the hoods for the price you can get the lens for!

Is the WR that different (apart from obvious) to the DAL?

Yeah Anvh right - LED backlit Benq. Cheap display but for my other comp uses I needed more desktop space. Yet to get a vid card with DVI to support a second monitor. As you say, worth keeping the 19inch, or getting one of those Samsung TN screens when I sort it out.

Hell I'd much rather be out on the water and someone else snapping away. Weather at the mo has other ideas!

Cheers for the reassurance. I think I am mistaking sharpness and the motion blur. I should use a faster shutter speed next time.

Funny I have just set up a new LED 24 screen. What a difference to my old 19 CRT! Much easier for viewing images, now just need to sort out the colours a touch.

Gonna keep saving for a 90mm macro and stick with these lenses. The environment as above is probably not somewhere you wanna take mega bucks of equipment (Kites and the likes cost enough!). Anyone know of companies where you can hire pentax lenses? See a few for Canon/Nikon.

Cheers
Greg

Hello

Wondering what peoples experience is with this lens. I struggle at times to get a viewable level of sharpness out of this lens - see pics from weekend below:

18mm - 8.0ap 1/90 100iso

35mm - 8.0 1/250 100iso

Yet with my 50-200 I don't seem to have as much trouble (granted its one pic coming towards me)

Cant afford a replacement (if I could possibly 17-70 Sigma).

Is there a technique I am missing with this lens?

Cheers
Greg

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I did not know where to crop as just blue sky all around. They are a bit uniform, I did try a few including some foreground but these tended to be shooting into the sun. Maybe next time I will get the chance to spend some more time looking for better angles.
Not all that sharp really ( all f8 ), although I do really like the closer range of the 55-200

What a lovely day!

Got some shots of paragliding, and a few of the dog on the beach. Not done anything but a bit of sharpen and crop in Picasa (need to get on with Corel X2!)

Perranporth beach day

Would love comments on any improvements, if they are a tad dull or what could improve with a touch of editing!

Thanks
Greg
