Situated just outside the village of Gotherington, a few miles from Cheltenham, Prescott is one of the most scenic of all UK motorsport venues. It would also be a good spot for a Pentax gathering, as there are very few debris fences and you can get some good angles from public areas. Some of these were taken with the benefit of a media tabard. Some, but not all...

No trickery, Stu. That is the leading group: Aston and BMW won one race apiece.

A sprinkling from different bits of England - a wonderful Historic Sports Car Club extravaganza at Thruxton and the British GT meeting at Oulton Park. Still haven't worked my way through all the shots, but there was lots of wastage as my gets-used-for-almost-everything Sigma 100-300mm f4 has been playing up - overexposing by several stops and missing focus with alarming regularity. It's definitely a lens problem, because it did the same thing on both bodies. I'm hoping it's just a dicky contact pin but will be booking it in for a service asap. In the meantime...

Some lovely images there, George - a great set. Wish my Siggy 100-300 was working that well at present. Something seems to have slipped within, so a trip to the vet beckons...

It would be interesting to know what your settings were... In my opinion they could benefit from the smallest adjustment - I'd use a PS levels adjustment layer, give a small reduction on the middle input slider, and then set the blend mode of the layer to 'luminosity' - this will avoid losing the saturation. Be interested to see if it works.
No compensation dialled in, Nigel - at least not intentionally. I tend to use aperture priority most of the time (even with racing cars, except when panning). WB set to auto, sharpness firmed up and pretty much everything else on factory default. These were mostly taken with my K-5 IIs, although the paraglider was taken with a K-5.

Those PP tips are way beyond my usual sphere of exploration, but I'll have a play...

Constructive suggestions always welcome, Karl!

The shots look OK on my home PC and work Mac, but it's possible that my eyes need recalibrating. I didn't do any intentional brightening in PP - simply gave them a quick 'autofix', which made a modest difference to a couple of camera jpegs but none at all to others.

I'll have another play, in due course.

Lovely, David. Given the quality of these and previous bird shots, is it time for a PU trip to your back garden?

Idiot pictured with K-5, Sigma 150-500 and monopod at the Crystal Palace sprint in 2011. I have been known to spend time away friom motorsport events, but it doesn't happen often...
