It is confusing to choose one. 28mm will be kind of a standard prime lens and 50mm for portrait photos?

I used to use canon, but after a long break from photography, I chose pentax k-5 because of its manual lenses low price, but good quality photos.
I would like to buy a prime lens.
I googled to look for reasonable lenses and found 50mm 1.4 -A or M and 50mm 1.2 or with A.
What do I need to know when I actually get one of them?
