Snootchies, I was thinking of the Win 7 Beta but was concerned about what happens when times up ? Will reverting back to Vista cock everything up ? In which case you'd have to pay Microsoft Full Price for a licence to continue with Win 7, I was planning on waiting for the price to be discounted a little.

Any views on this ?

Edit: also what's your experience of installing the beta ? Did you have to re-install programmes ? Did you lose any data at all ?

Just going through some images as its horrible & murky outside. Thought I'd share this one. Some very scary looking trees I captured a few weeks ago. I'm planning to go back at dusk armed with an ND filter, Flash & some coloured gels.

I have the K20d 10-17 18-55 & Tamron 70-300. I'm looking to add a few lenses in the next few weeks. I'm torn on which direction to take. I probably wont replace the telephoto for now as I've seldom reached for it (In fact it's only getting some use indoors now it's raining as I don't have a proper 1:1 macro)

I can afford to pick up one lens before the cashback runs out.

The main dilemma I have is over the 12-24. I can get it locally for a little over £410 before cashback. It would fit in nicely with the 10-17 as 17mm fisheye is roughly the same field of view as 12mm rectilinear.
The 12-24 is a good price, especially if I buy before end of Jan. I can see the price going up when new stock is bought (see SRS) & I can't see myself paying £500 for it as the Sigma 10-20 (or new Tamron 10-24 dependant on IQ) are far more affordable.
I'm just wondering if 16mm or 17mm would be wide enough the majority of the time & as backup switch to the fisheye. In which case I'd be better off getting the 16-45 which is currently a bargain £200 with SRS.

I'll probably add a couple of primes (1 needs to be Macro) - Can't justify buying FA Ltd's I'm afraid & the DA Ltd's are just not fast enough to warrant sacrificing the versatility of the DA* zooms.

I'm currently looking at Sigma 24 f1.8mm or 30mm f1.4 - Favouring 24mm at present due to close focus ability (boon to creativity with the 10-17 I've found) A Pentax 50mm f1.4, No-brainer for the money ! Plus a Sigma 70mm f2.8 Macro - Has had some cracking reviews & the samples I've seen are razor sharp, just what you want from a Macro.

Obviously I need to make my own mind up, but any thoughts or advice on any of these options or individual lenses would be appreciated.

Better get it on a short auction now Mike. If it is a consignment shipment I can see there being a load on ebay this evening, all with the a similar end time. I might be able to pick one up for a tenner from the flooded market !

For simple browsing Google Chrome is the quickest browser I've come across. It's open source too so should see some nice plugins coming along shortly.

I wonder If they'll have returned any Pentax items they had, or is it worth visiting the store & making a stupid offer on a Limited if you can find one.

My original order was 02/12/08. Was offered the replacement before xmas. Looks like they've run out of Tamrons to offer now too.

They'll either bite the bullet & cancel all the orders & lose face. Or offer you all Sigma 70-300's next & lose money.
