Well spotted Aiki, I included something in the right hand side of the shot when originally composing that I thought would add interest. I prefered the cropped version though as it added more of a surreal feel with the building being fairly straight & the face being warped.

Thanks all, glad you enjoyed my little wildlife saga !

These particular swans are very tame indeed. They can even be handfed. The only time they get a little hissy is when dogs get a little too near them.

What size filter does it require ?

Thanks Don, you see what I was saying about Ben Spies. He needs elbow sliders the way he leans his shoulders right off the bike. You've done a cracking job, especially with manual focus. I wouldn't have even thought about trying these kind of shots, but you've pulled it off brilliantly.

Well I was near a nature reserve nearing dusk today so thought I'd pop in as I had my camera gear with me. Swans are photogenic right ? People post up pics of swans looking all serene & graceful, this must be easy right ?

WRONG

I did manage to take a few half decent shots in between people feeding them.

And I'm fond of this shot, I like the little girls bolt upright stance in defiance of the approaching hoardes !

All the above were taken with my Tamron 28-75 f2.8, as the light faded further I tried out my new Sigma 30mm f1.4. Shot below taken at F2

As for ducks, well they stay still a little longer.

But I'm still in shock after witnessing a Mallard gang rape

I don't own one, but the Lacie Rugged series always get excellent reviews & sound just what you're looking for to "throw" in your bag !

If your laptop has firewire then you can get the firewire version & you'll see an increased transfer rate.

Hard drives fail even without abuse, so if it's possible I'd suggest keeping it at home & transferring images from your laptop to free up some space instead.

If you're happy with it Terry, then why change ?
