There are a few models about now, piquing my interest, my main concern would be having any sort of accident with that expensive kit on board. But if you are a confident rider, as you obviously are, then it looks marvellous. Big advantage over a car is that you can just stop anywhere if something catches your eye which is always a big frustration when motoring.

All set up and ready on a hill in plenty of time for once, but just blanket cloud so have given up. Saw a hare in a wheat field so might just come back early one morning and see if he obliges.

I find the Pentax 100mm macro gives excellent results and as Jak says works well with the Pentax AF160 ring flash. It zooms in and out to focus and the front element with the filter thread doesn’t rotate. I only wish it had a silent motor built in as it can be a bit slow and noisy to focus, and there is a not uncommon problem of the aperture lever sticking, caused apparently by lubricant leaking onto the aperture leaves. This can be fixed as mine has been and it has worked fine since, but something to be aware of especially if buying secondhand.
Thanks the sticking aperture lever is something I was not aware of, is that the D-FA 100 WR, non WR or all?
Mine is the WR version, I imagine the mechanism was the same on the previous model.

Yet again BBC weather forecasting rain here today and tomorrow with ‘low chance of precipitation’! What the hell does that mean? Hedging their bets because they haven’t got it right yet.

Great results but how the hell do you keep that lot steady enough for hand-held?

Thanks again all. I see that there were two other images in the same section taken with Pentax gear, so three out of fifteen isn’t bad. If either of you are on the forum, say hello.

Will that be seen everywhere or just in the Southern Hemisphere?

You also misspelt misspelt.
Ok, I have deleted one "s" but I used "misspelled" as a verb, "misspelt" is incorrect here and would be used as in :"the word on the page was misspelt."

Thanks for responses everyone. Derek, its worth a go but please warn me if you are submitting any first!

Never heard of the outdoor photographer. May Google it.
What image was used ?
In my excitement I misspelled the title, it’s OUTDOOR PHOTGRAPHY! It’s the Green Weevil in my portfolio.
