Thanks for the link Ken, very useful. I don't own a flashgun anymore, over the past 18 months I've had to downsize my kit somewhat and that was one of the items I sold.

I'm going to be taking some photos soon of jewellery that a friend of mine makes. I'm looking at buying a mini studio tent but can anyone give ideas please as to what lighting to use? Is it worth buying one of kits online? They include a tripod as well which I wouldn't use. Or shall I buy the tent & a couple of cheap desklamps?

Thanks

Rob

For sale is a Tamron 70-300mm in an excellent used condition. I bought it in September new from SRS and has had very little use since then. Original box, caps and paperwork included.

Also for sale is a Pentax 50-200mm WR in a very good used condition, no box included but the lens does have the original front & rear caps.

Great photos, particularly the first two. In the second one it looks like they come straight out of the mountain, like some weird green volcanic eruption .

I've been lucky enough to experience them three years running. Always a treat.
Trust me, Barrie, you can not take photos of this quality from a boat/ship.

-10C is not cold! It was -20C daytime high when I first went to Norway. Not including the windchill!
Thanks Gwyn. Yes I noticed it above the mountain at rhe time but looks better now.
So I was taking them during a heatwave then!

No we were staying at a hotel but the winds that night were very strong.

My wife & I spent our belated Honeymoon in Iceland last week in an attempt to see the Northern Lights and we weren't disappointed. Here's a few of my photos, not only was it cold but very windy as well & in fact we nearly didn't go out due to the force of the wind.

The rest are on my Flickr site. These were taken with K5lls & Sigma 10-20mm.

Thanks for all your advice. It looks like it might be the FastStone viewer as I've noticed in other programs the GPS data is shown in the RAW file.

When I view my RAW files on the latest version of FastStone Image Viewer no GPS data is displayed when I select Image Properties - however if I take them in JPEG format the Google Earth logo appears along with the data. I'm using a K-30 firmware version 1.05 with the GPS unit.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please as to why the information comes up in JPEG only? The data is stored in the RAW file as I can see that information on the camera screen.

Thanks

Rob

Yes Gwyn it was the Pentax unit I was after as we are going to be doing a fair bit of travelling when we are away...but I might have to look at the logger as you suggest, I don't really want to buy a new GPS unit - as you say they are quite pricey.
