BUMP! The 55mm has now arrived safely with HarisF1, so that's gone. K1 is still up for grabs.

Surprised the 17-35mm hasn't had more interest, they're pretty rare and damned good for the price. Was tempted to try and adapt it to Sony!

Hey folks, update - my A7Ii system arrived and ok, I confess....I've been seduced to the Sony dark side. The battery life sucks and the image quality is a noticeable step down, but for critical wedding shoots the focusing is like witchcraft! Keeping the K-5II as a second body though

Everything in the first post is available for sale (though a few people have got first refusal on the battery grip). I'll get the studio lights out and do a proper session photographing everything, along with a detail description of condition etc.

If anything doesn't sell on here it'll go on eBay next time they have a £3 max selling fee offer, so if you're interested let me know sooner rather than later!

Is the da.55 usable on full frame?
Far beyond usable - it's absolutely the finest lens I've ever used! I shoot 90% of my work with the 55mm on the K-1, from alternative fashion to weddings to street and landscape, and it's utterly incredible. I'm not saying this just to sell it, if you can find one at a price you can afford you should absolutely grab it.

However it's really important to treat it as an f1.6 lens! At 1.4 it's soft and dreamy and generally not that great, but 1.6 is already razor sharp with pretty much no aberrations. I think reviewers tend to test wide open and then jump down to f2 or 2.8, so the reviews make it seem like a worse performer at wide apertures than it really is!

I've not had any trouble with vignetting, generally. Due to the sensor physically moving around, you'll occasionally get a soft or dark corner when the Shake Reduction is working very hard and close to the limit of its travel. Doubly so if you use the hood, which is designed for crop. But otherwise the vignette is no worse than most other fast primes in most situations.

Hey folks,

Been a hardcore Pentaxian for years but Sony have finally lured me in with price drops on the A7II, eye AF etc. Ishoot almost everything with a 50mm and the pricing of the new D-FA is looking pretty eye-watering. So it's all up for grabs!
Until I've had a week or so to put the A7 through its paces this is all tentative, but I'm looking at the following prices:

K-1 body: £1000
(boxed with all accessories, shutter count approx 20k, a few cosmetic marks but excellent working order)

K-1 battery grip: £90 (£75 if bought with body)
(boxed, mint with Pentax battery)

DA* 55mm f1.4: £325
(Boxed with hood, pouch etc. V.Good condition)

Tamron 70-200mm f2.8: £325
(boxed with pouch, hood, caps etc. Good condition. Aperture lever guard is missing, doesn't effect operation)

Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 ultrawide: £150
(good condition, caps only)

Will add photos at some point soon, or on request for a specific item. All prices include insured shipping, and can discount for multiple items. Payment by Paypal ideally. There's some other stuff too but that's the vast majority at the moment! Will be keeping my trusty old K5II body though

Feel free to message me or comment below if you're interested or have any questions, rather sell here than have to put it on eBay...

Hey folks,

Need something to cover wide angle in decent quality on my K1, mostly for events and weddings etc. What have you guys got?

Comment by RightOnTime posted on LOOKING TO BUY: Full frame wide angles! Eg, Sigma 20-40mm or 15-30mm, Tokina 19-35mm/20-35mm etc at 06/02/2018 - 16:34

Ok, here for sale is the Tamron SP AF XR Di LD IF A09 MACRO 28-75mm f2.8 (I swear to god that's the actual full title, Tamron are are the forefront of acronym technology...). It's the Japanese-made version, which is supposedly a little better but I doubt it really makes much difference.

This is a solid lens but after buying a variety of hefty zoom lenses and always leaving them in my bag, I've accepted that simply a prime guy at heart.
Cosmetically it's got light signs of use but generally good. The optics are great, with only light internal dust and a few tiny marks/hairline scratches on the front element, too small to affect image quality. Aperture is smooth and snappy in both A and manual positions, no sign of oil etc on the blades. Autofocus is fast and accurate in both phase detect and live view. Sharpness is good, not the razor-sharpness of a good prime but decent at every combination of focal length and aperture. A workhorse rather than a thoroughbred.

Comes with non-original front and rear caps and the Tamron DA09 hood (which is a rather snug fit!)

Price for you guys is £150 including insured delivery (or collect from Liverpool for a tenner less if you're nearby!).

Yet another lens which is a cracking performer, but the DA*55 has rendered it surplus to requirements!

You all know the score, the legendary Pentax 50mm 1.7 formula in a lightweight AF body. Optics are clean and focusing nice and snappy, just some light cosmetic blemishes on the body and a small scratch in the focusing scale window. Though you could describe the entire F series as a 'cosmetic blemish' frankly, they're not exact handsome lenses

£120 including insured delivery.
