When I got my first camera a couple of years ago the FA50 was about £150. I wish I'd bought one but I didn't know I liked 50mm yet. By the time I did realise I wanted one the price had gone up to something like £300, so I still didn't buy it. And now it's no longer available in the UK at all I wish I had! (I expect Pentax USA still sell it but given the dollar-to-pound rate, shipping, VAT, import duty, clearance fee and lack of consumer rights protection and I doubt it's worth importing.)
Buying new in the UK, the only choices currently seem to be the Sigma 50mm for £380 or the DA* 55mm for £550.
The FA50 goes for £230 on ebay but I can't bring myself to buy a second hand item with no warranty for more than it originally cost new.
