all the talk on af calibration on here looks like you set your own test up,if you focused on the middle one sorry to say you have a problem:D

better off bracketing 5 exposures then merge in ps, or one exposure, meter for the highlights and pull the shadows back in ps

you really do have HDR nailed, any chance of a youtube tutorial for we who would aspire to such levels:D

put coloured card behind and bounce flash or light off card to light and colour the water / drop,if a glass dish is used try white card under it as well. you should be able to boost levels/ contrast etc in pp if required. some thing multi coloured instead of single colour card will give an even better effect a good early attempt.

this is very nice, almost a painting. what did you use to process it

prefer this, would prefer the colour version with a little desaturation, colours look a bit false imo. still a lovely scene and reflection
