I cant believe that you were able to do all that with an ISO800 compressed file!

Hi John

I am delighted with the results after reading the responses both here and on the internet.

After tinkering with the k-5 its not the mirror slap that interest me anymore its the excellent dynamic range of this camera!

Before I was sticking the camera on the tripod. Sticking her on to AV and not really taking into consideration the EV steps. I just fired away at one stop intervals shooting five exposures.

BUT now I can see the merit of bringing the range down or up depending on the light levels and getting the very best out of the camera. The shot below is of my bins taken about 20 minutes ago - def better than anything ive shot HDR / photo blending before and wish I had used it in the past.

Thanks for the help.

A new tripod en route.

thanks John for coming back to me.

I understand the process, but i always create too much movement in the camera fiddling and can see a bit of change in the corners - its probably down to my crap £10 tripod - i assume a good tripod and head locked into place would solve this issue?

I am going to try this at any rate

its the mirror lock up that was annoying me most

BUT

back to the manual bracketing. isnt it a good thing that you are using different apertures so there is better chance of sharpness in the foreground etc?

I tried a manual and AV five image hdr earlier and the manual seems sharper

is this strange>?

OK back to this again - VERY confused!

I have been taking my landscapes via HDR by selecting RAW ISO 80 and five bracketed exposures -2 -1 - 0 +1 +2 etc using my infa red remote.

Now I am wondering the following. Is it ok to use AV mode - Ive noticed some people using Manual. When I tried doing this the Aperature changes? Isnt that odd?

Is this a good thing or bad thing?

Plus when you shoot via LIVE VIEW does this enable the mirror lock up to kick in>

Any help apprecitated
