To keep you up to date, I've bought the original model K5 on a PX deal from Janet Green Photographic in Halifax (Part of BCE and a Pro Dealer). The deal helped me clear some of my surplus lenses. The control layout and the quietness of operation helped seal the deal on the K5 for me.

I use the Samsung version of the K-10D and have used both the 50-200 and 55-300 DA lenses on it, both are good lenses but I have to admit my preference for the 55-300 as it's got that extra 100mm of reach but either have always helped me shoot nice crisp images.

My walk-round "everyday lens" is a Sigma 18-200 which I find works well enough within the limitations of a Superzoom.

I'm used to the top plate LCD that the K5 has from being both a GX-10 and Z-50P user and I like the easy access controls for metering and focus point selection that the GX-10 has.

The K5-II is a little too expensive for my budget at the moment, so if I go for a K5, it would have to be the original version. I'm out and about at the weekend, so I'm going to have a look at both the K5 and K30 and then make my decision.

Wilkinson have the K5-II at £659 body only or £729 kitted with the 18-55 DA WR, I pass their Burnley store three or four times a day and had another look in the window when I was out for lunch today.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it really is appreciated. I'm probably not going to be able to move on anything until month end now though. I'll keep my eyes peeled on the SRS website until then and will let you know what I've gone for.

I currently use the Samsung GX-10 and have been thinking about adding a newer, more up date body to use alongside this. I have looked at the K5 and K5 II, and have also seen the K30 in my local Wilkinson Cameras store. Which would be best to go for or wait to have a look at the K50?
