The K-5 AF is much improved over the K10D/K20D and slightly better than the K-7.
If you would compare sharpness and details of a picture taken by K20D and K5 (same lens, etc), taking into account slightly different resolution - is K5 an improvement over K20 ?

Hi Thoughton, could you do some simple sharpness test between K5 and K20, couple of crops (same lens, object).

Let's hope the staff are made aware that these cameras are (more than?) a match than the Canikons they usually peddle.
Jessops have regular visits of product/manufacturer "representatives" that try to "educate"/convince staff why ie. N i better than C, etc, as well as bring propaganda materials. Pentax would need to fight on this field as well...

Don't forget you are also comparing two very different.
CCD in the K100D and the K10D and a CMOS in the K5.
They are build differently and work differently.
I don't forget that, that just make such a comparison tests and possible results even more interesting, don't forget that whole story is about CMOS sensors from start (hence comparison to CCD).

I would like to see some DOF test at large aperture, the same light condition, same lens, and i.e. K5 and K100 or K10 (K5 where its sensor photocells are much smaller than of K100 sensor).
Would the suggested bigger loss of "marginal" light affect DOF in a visible way or not?, or in other words is DOF going to be visibly/significantly different between these two cameras (with the same lens and settings).

Found a link to "open letter" on pentaxforums.com, letter is here:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/an_open_letter_to_the_major_camera_manu...

Interesting read, and potentially interesting thesis/conclusions to make of it.
Is there any i.e. K-5 owner that still has K10 or K100 and some spare time?.
Would be interesting to see difference (if any) in shutter time (although I have a feeling that suggested gain boost would compensate this fully in case of photons shortage )and bookeh, for samples taken at the same time (light) with the same lens (some wide open one).

A lot of the early Airbus crashes were caused by the provision of a control which could be miss-interpreted and miss-set.
Some major "problem" with Airbus FBW system caused accidents in the past and still is cousing incidents these days - crews not fully understanding how it works and its complexity.
I.e. "landing mode issue" - 1988 AirFrance A320 crash, 2009 AirFrance A319 problems executing go-around.
Interesting is how documentation (usually paper) gets moved onto computers in cockpit - EFB (Electronic Flight Bag), in newest these PCs would be doing: FCOM (Flight Crew Operating Manual), FCTM (Flight Crew Training Manual), OM Company Operational Manual, weight&balance, performance, all Jeppesen maps/diagrams, etc.
Aliengrove if I recall correctly works with that directly , so could have more info.

NOTE!!! Shops in TCR tend not to have the best prices!
I knew somebody who worked to Jessops at New Oxford St, apparently most times when they had a sale, guys from these shops were there to buy stuff .
Anyway these shops will have generic Pentax lenses (kit ones, etc), not much more. But if you continue walking up TCR, between Goodge St and Warren St stations you will have two shops on left hand side of the road, both have secondhand and both may have something for Pentax (new/used).
First shop has website (http://www.kingsleyphoto.co.uk/) - give them a call to ask if they have what you want, don't remember name for the other one (but they have some Pentax stuff on display), last time they also had some big lens/telescope with Pentax logo I think, must have a look next time around) they are nearly next to Warren St.
Around British Museum (which is around TCR) you will find 2 more shops with secondhands, but last time I was there, there was not much to chose from. There is one more shop around Holborn station, but I think tjhey don't have big choice these days as well.
