FS: Lowepro Lens Case 1N

Yes, you are. First clue:what are the webbing loops sewn into the fabric at the ends of the zip for? Second clue: all are where zips finish/start.What you are describing is not located on all Lowepro bags and cases. The Photomonk

No, Stefan it's not. Maybe if you go back and reread what has been posted you might have an idea of what was asked. The Photomonk

The most compact Trekker backpack has a large front organizer pocket, customizable interior, weather flap, laminated mesh pockets, a removable waistbelt and SlipLock™ attachment loops to expand your carrying capacity.Mystery solved by the folks at Lowepro. The Photomonk

The only thing we know is that they are by the ends of zips .It just happens to be a Lowepro signature to their products. Some like to grasp the metal zipper tabs and some like to grasp those thingies. The Photomonk

Polorizer Filter for Pentax KM - 18-55mm ?
Posted in General Photographic Discussion
I think I said it, they are expensive by the prices I have looked up locally, compared to the quality of product delivered. One last thing, the second part of my screen name is monk which indicates a religious state or vocation, rather than munk which is associated with a rodent. I appreciate the proper spelling. But I still want some other filters and they are going to be Hi-tech, here take a look I looked at the website, and the company Formatt is familiar to any graphic designer that has been in the business over 25 years. The only thing to change is the move towards more photographic materials than to items like type and screens. Their products were expensive then for the product quality, and some things I see do not change with time. The Photomonk

WHOA!!!! I just had a look at Lee filters' prices on B&H's website. Expensive puts it mildly. I will stick with Cokin. ;) The Photomonk

As one that has about 20 fitted circular filters, I am getting rid of at least 90% of them (so look for them in the classified section soon) and have switched to the Cokin filter system. Not only does it fit all your lenses with the inexpensive purchase of holder rings for the different lens sizes, but proves to be economical in the long run. I really can recommend Cokin filters over fitted circular filters. The Photomonk

Add to that Staff who are enthusiastic about the stuff they sellI hate to be a spoil sport, but if Steven really does live in Wyoming, visiting an Apple store will have to be a holiday of a few days, since the closest one is at least 500 miles away. Thus he may have to rely on what is local or the internet. I am going to weigh in here. I have both in this realm, a desktop and two laptops for my work. I prefer to do most editing and finishing on anything in PP on my iMac desktop. The larger screen, along with the expanded memory, the tablet and additional drives (all firewire enabled) make that an easy decision for me. I use on all the computers though Capture One 5 Pro to begin my RAW processing having left behind Aperture some 8 months ago. On the laptops, either the MacBook or Acer, I also carry an external HD that gives an additional 500GB in the field, which can be then moved to the iMac when I am back home. I will generally download the day's work in the field and evaluate if anything has to be redone. I can also make back-ups and upload to my cloud storage from the field. I do some RAW processing on the laptops, but prefer the iMac. Whatever you chose, you will have to build a rhythm for your workflow and be comfortable with it along with taking that all important decision regarding your budget. Good luck! The Photomonk

John, I attend shows like this in the US, and I noticed at least for last year's shows less people exhibiting products and even a slightly lower attendance at the shows. There are only so many camera vendors, and the rest has to be the ancillary products. I definitely believe it is the economy and companies being more careful what funds they have to spend. New to editing software, not sure where to start...
Posted in General Digital Photography Discussion
It may be. The software downloads were not listed with the Intuos 4 on any of the advertising materials I had from the manufacturer, but when the box arrived it was a registration bonus. You also have the option of ordering a CD with the programs, but of course that is at extra cost. The Photomonk

If you go the Elements route - just check out the price of a Wacom Tablet - you may get the Tablet plus Elements for a price very close to the Elements by itself?I don't believe elements is included with the new tablets :?It is included. I just bought an Intuos 4 tablet a couple moths back and the software is one of the software options available by download and license. The Photomonk

Actually, it would be interesting to see what Pentax's worldwide sales stats are for the different colors of the K-x. Might be a surprising eye-opener for some. The Photomonk

I'm pretty sure my dad would rather use a Nikon than a white K-x .. to be honest I think I probably would as well :shock:AH! A possible convert to the dark side!  The Photomonk
Professional wedding photographer......FAIL
Posted in General Photographic Discussion
My cousin bought a set of portaloos after being horrified at the rental charge when she enquired for her wedding. She now rents them out as a business, they have more than paid for themselves and she's even bought another set.A definite wedding success there! The Photomonk
Digital Dilema
Posted in General Digital Photography Discussion
Unfortunately, it does not sound like your camera likes to travel. ;) It does sound though that something serious is either going or has gone. Repair is not an option on trip like yours, so you may want to see if you can find a replacement or second camera until you have it looked at properly. The Photomonk

Daniel, it is not really the processing I do all the time, but on occasion. It is always nice to have another piece to your toolbox to use when the need arises. Thanks again, The Photomonk

It would seem that way. I have Elements 4 and that definitely doesn't! If you don't want to spend out on a new version of Elements just yet, how about this free work-around. ;-) Download , and save to your desktop. Now, every time you want to do this B&W conversion, just double-click the 'Actions.psd' file and it will open up in Elements. Then open the image you want to work on, view the two images at the same time using Window>Images>Tile from the menu bar. Then just select the two adjustment layers from the 'Actions' image and drag them onto the image you want to play with, and then adjust them as necessary. Does that make sense? DanThanks Daniel for the link and file. I want to play around with it on a few samples to see how I like it. I'm always interested in different things to help make things go better. ;) The Photomonk

Thanks Stefan, Possibly a reason to upgrade on both platforms, though personally, i have never found a need for this feature. The Photomonk

OK, Stefan, I did a quick look at the link you gave. Apparently the instructions are for the PC versions of PSE. Unfortunately, certain features of PSE in the PC version are not carried over to the Mac version, i.e. there is no Mac equivalent to versions 5 or 7. I noticed that in comparing the different versions of PSE since version 4. I can not speak for any certainty regarding version 8 in both versions since I have not upgraded yet on either platform. Lightroom is a photo editing catalogue program, it will fill all of your standard photographic needs but it does not have the pixel editing expect, the new one has that but very limited though, not so advance as elements or photoshop. Aperture, I've never used that.Aperture is Apple's own program much like Lightroom. The Photomonk
