Rode seem to be well regarded by many and used by many U - tube video makers . I went for Azden and have had good results . On the plus side it takes a single AAA battery and when separated from its mount slips into a side pocket on my bag taking up very little space. It works well and delivers good results.
The only real "issue" I have with it is the lack of an Led or other form of indicator that it is powered up - easy to put away switched on ! I just always make sure we have spare batteries .

Owning both the 50-200mm WR & 18-135mm amongst others the 18-135mm is the lens that spends most time on my camera body.Whilst like any lens it has limitations it is my go to lens, not least because like the camera it's WR

I guess it really hangs like many of these discussions on a self analysis of what sort of photography you do , what your expectations are and what compromises you are prepared to make.

Whilst the 18-135mm does seem to get very mixed reviews , I can only speak as I find and it's my favourite lens.

Hi everybody , having reached a point where I want more "reach" for airshow, wildlife and sport I find myself looking at the 120 -400 Sigma or the Pentax 300mm DA* .

I Would really appreciate any thoughts or experiences anyone has with both or either of these two lenses .
The Sigma 500's have been largely discounted due to portability /size issues.

Would echo everybody's comments about the MX 1 . An outstanding piece of kit for when big is inconvenient. Had some outstanding results in badly lit museums with it which is a bonus .
