Hello,
I have been using iphoto and Photoshop elements 9 on my Mac but have just purchsed a Windows 7 based laptop and wondering what photo editing program would be best to get.

I haven't used photoshop much due to lack of time but I will be retiring in the next year and then hope to have more time to indulge myself and your advice and suggestions would be great to have, I see a lot of you use lightroom.

As I am a novice at this I would like something that is reasonably intuative, most of my photos are taken in jpeg but I want to use raw in the future.

Kind regards

Philip.

Is there any particular lens that should be used to see the fault, does it show up better with 300mm lens rather than a 50mm?

Thanks for the helpful tips and I will take on board your comments, next job is to learn how to use photoshop elements 9 or iphoto, I have both but assume elements is better.
I was too quick in taking the pictures and didn't really think to much about what was in the scene, as I said I am a snapshot taker but your comments give me food for thought and I will work to improve and hopefully have better pictures to submit in the future.
Living in the Prudhoe area of the North East can anyone recommend a camera club?
Once thanks and I will be back.

Best wishes

Philip.

Well I am back from my summer!!!! holiday in Austria and weather was not what I expected but I suppose you have to expect the unexpected in the mountains.
I ended up taking all but the 35mm DA lens with me and for 96% of the pictures used the 18-135mm WR lens.
I am not very happy with pictures not sure if it my poor skills, lack of vision or the weather.
I would like to paste some for some CC but cannot seem to get them on the system, can anyone help me.
