In a nutshell I would sat, whatever method you use, keep it simple and information based.
I have published a few sites for various organisations by writing the html code into Notepad and it works for me.
I learned very basic html, just enough to allow me to produce a bit of work. It's also a good way to see how the mechanics work.

Well everybody I have installed 2 x 1Gb chips today and I am now multi tasking to beat the band. No waiting for programmes to close down and messing about like before. I am very happy.
You are a good bunch of folk here and have been very generous with your advice.
Thanks

The responses have been so helpful and I will not be running out to buy a new one. As far as the RAM is concerned, this is what's in the manual:

Architecture DDR SDRAM
Memory Connectors Two
Memory Capacities 128-, 256-, or 512-MB
Minimum Memory 128MB shared DDR SDRAM
Maximum Capacity 1GB

So, to the layman like me the max is 2x512MB

So would the best advice be to upgrade to 1GB and see how it goes. Are we saying here that the processor and graphics in my present system are adequate and maybe a good springclean?

I am so appreciative of all your help and advice.

Thanks so far.
Yes I do only have 512mb ram and know that this is one of my problems. I have been told that my processer and graphics card is too old and not up to it. obviously if it is only a ram problem I would be more than happy.

This is what I have;
Dell Dimension 2400 P4 2.8Ghz
512 Ram
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
Dell plug and play monitor
The max ram capacity is 1gb

Hope this helps.
Thanks so much again for your efforts to assist me.

My computer is under strain since I started using CS3, especially as I need to run Powerpoint and Adobe bridge at the same time.
Could anyone recommend a Processor, Graphics card and a suitable manufacturer.
I know there are lots out there but perhaps someone here has upgraded for the same reason and may be able to offer their experience.
Any advice really welcomed.

John; I am able to show, in Powerpoint, the videos that I produce from my digital camera. I often have a small video sharing the same slide as a photograph. Can this be done in PTE.
Thanks
Tom
