Good luck with the Ansmann batteries. Ansmann 2200's were the worst batteries I ever bought Wouldn't even work in a Pentax *istDS and useless at holding a charge for very long.
You can't beat Eneloops.
Most chargers won't overcharge AA's so I'd give them 12/24 hours.
It would be worth you buying a Technoline BL-700 Intelligent
AA-AAA battery charger £30 delivered. It will discharge and test
the batteries individually. From Amazon link

Actually £6.55 is about as cheap as they come, not £3.00 as I said above, I got confused with some lens caps I also bought. Is that what you meant?

On eBay you can buy a spare battery for ~£8 and an adaptor for ~£3 neither will break the bank so why not?
