Now there are two lenses that interest me, and I want your opinion on them, especially if you have both.
Now which would you go for?
70mm F2.4 DA Limited
77mm F1.8 FA Limited
Now I do have film Pentax as well, but don't let that cloud your judgment.
Which of these lenses is better optically? I would be using them in a studio envirioment, so wide open is not possible, more like F8-F14, so they will be equal on aperture.
Does anyone have both? and which do they prefer?

Personally, the D40 is a bit of a consumer DSLR, aimed at people who want to upgrade from a compact, and built to a price.
The K200D however is on a level above the D40, and has the following advantages:-
1. Better viewfinder (even though it is only a pentamirror rather than a pentaprism, it is still brighter than the D40, D80 and even D90)
2. shake reduction in-body, rather then in-lens, meaning that ALL lenses put on the K200D will have image stabilisation. It works as well, I have a K10D and K20D and would'nt dream of not having it now.
3. Sealing, All K200D's have full weather sealing, and if my K10D during a Blackpool shoot is anything to go by, a major PLUS.
4. AF points, the D40 only has 3 (I believe) and the K200D has 11, enough said!
5. Sensor, It is the sensor from the K10D, and its a cracking 10MP one.
6. IQ, possibly the most personal one, but I like the images that Pentax produce.
7. Build, Metal chassis housed in a plastic body, and feels well built.
8. Lenses, the K200D can use ANY Pentax Bayonet lens from the past 40 years (apart from some obscure ones in the early eighties) and will happily use screw mount lenses with adapter, the D40 cannot use some nikon mount lenses.
Quite a list, and I am sure that you will make the decision that is preferable to you.

Maybe they should check the Jessops for how much you can really sell this for, or WEX for a more realistic price.
On the other hand, maybe Argos know something that we don't. lol

I would want Pentax to produce these lenses reproduced as is, not smaller, so with the 85mm lens you would get an 85mm lens, which would produce 85mm effects in 35mm film, FF DSLR (hence why I called them DFA) and the equiv of 127.5mm in APS-C crop (although it is still an 85mm).
The FOV of a lens does not change no matter the format type. Hence why the larger the format, the larger the lens to get the "standard" lens.
I would love Pentax to produce the lenses mentioned in my original thread, as they surely still have the blueprints for the optics, and with SDM, would make a cracking range to use on my Film, cropped DSLR and future FF SLRS that may happen.
Personally I prefer for Pentax to make these lenses, rather than go 3rd Party as the optics are better.

although some, yes some Nikkor lenses are good (but not as good as Limiteds or star lenses), the converter does not go flush with the camera body. So Any nikkor lens you use will not go to infinity with this converter. I have a cheap M42 mount and had the same problem, only by getting the flush Pentax M42 converter did I resolve the focussing.
