Thanks for sharing your technique GlynM, definitely going to try something similar sometime, as soon as I get a checkered table cloth.

Now that the judging exercise is over, and keeping with the rules as specified by John, I'll offer some thoughts.
Partly I suspect we are dealing with definitions, and my understanding centers around the word "life", with one dictionary having no less than 17 definitions. My understanding is that it refers to innate ability to animate, move, and distinguished from inanimate objects, that are unable to move. Still life, would then focus on the latter. In that respect, it is perfectly possible for Still Life forms to have movement, albeit from an external source, effectively meaning there can be still life with movement. And while one appreciates the delineation given my Dromfit, and I agree that the traditional understanding of Still Life is no movement, it remains that the term Still Life should be confined to the subject being inanimate, rather than whether it is moving/has movement. Of course it gets a tad more complicated when we bring in such matters as trees, leaves, flowers, food (popular subjects of still life) , all of which have a degree of life , animated that is- growth and expansion etc. With the advent of Digital Photography, it is to be expected that older definitions will be altered somewhat, evident here.
My critique of the challenge, and for which an apology has already been offered, is that better delineation should have been offered- such as that it should include whole/complete bottles. It has been delineated better in the judges comments "That means whole objects, stationary [still]...".

A bunch belonging to the Beatle Mania brigade, we all are . Congratulations CIBarker- well thought out composition, and execution just great. Congrats too Tyronet2000 and Aliengrove. Tough one to judge and thanks is due to Michael for judging and commenting on all the entries. Good comp and fun indeed, which besides giving a visual feast for the eyes, also jogged the memory banks.
