I went to SRS on Saturday and bought one with a Kenko circular polarizer for £535 and they gave me £40 for my old kit lens and an old Sigma 70-210mm. I see this morning that the price had gone up to £835, looks like I got in just in time.

I've just heard from my home and contents insurers that my claim is being settled and that they are sending a cheque out, what a relief

Thanks for the advice everyone. I might give SRS a ring towards the end of the week and see if I can PX my kit lens and and old Sigma 70-210 that are now redundant.

I was wondering how the Tamron and Sigma equivalents stack up against it. The Tamron has the advantage of having a 67mm thread which I already have several filters for. However I like the idea that the Pentax is sealed against the elements.

I got one last weekend and so far I am very impressed. I find it very sharp even at f2.8, and the colour rendition is wonderful. A/F is a little slow, but very accurate, which is more important to me in a lens of this focal length range.

Have a look on my Flickr site , the first 3 images are with this lens.
Were those the Gilbert White house ones, that's just down the road from me.

I was thinking about getting one of these for my birthday towards the end of the year. However when I checked the price on Warehouse Express it has gone up by around £350 to £819 I'm assuming this down to the exchange rate being not in our favour when the new stock was purchased. I see some stockists still have it at less than £500. I'm thinking of biting the bullet and getting one now.

Does anyone use one of these and would they recommend it?

Are there any other brands, i.e. Sigma that offer a better performance?

It looks like it won the Amateur Photographer Zoom lens of the year award (according to a caption on Warehouse Express) has anyone seen their review of this lens?

Hi, I'm Neil and live in Whitehill, Hampshire.

I would be using my K20D only whilst photographing the limestone pavement on Twistleton Scar (Yorkshire Dales) one of the locks on my tripod's legs came undone sending my camera crashing to the deck. It tore the lens clean off and according to the shop, has damaged the view finder and card reader. On their recommendation it has to go back to Pentax for assessment/repairs. It looks as though my home and contents insurance will cover it, here's hoping. In the meantime it's back to my old Ist DL2 which I had given to my 10 year old daughter to use under supervision.

OK, so am I the only person who uses Paint Shop Pro? Mainly because PSE doesn't work on 64bit Vista.
No, I use it too.
