#4 makes my eyes go out of focus! I like #3 but I would choose #1 for the rusty old whatever-it-is in the foreground. (There does seem to be a halo around the trees.)

When diesel fuel burns, it produces mainly water vapour (steam) and carbon dioxide, so I suppose it really was half a steam train!

Thanks to you all for your comments.

Steve, re. #1 - My reason for taking this was to get a composition showing the structure of the bridge and I waited for some people to walk along the towpath into the scene to give (as you noted) a sense of scale. I have to admit that I didn't think of the man and his daughter being the subject, but I now see what you mean. I wish I had more talent for seeing images! I like #3, but #1 is now my favourite!

All are good interesting shots. The birds in flight are my favourites.

Both cracking shots from an interesting combination of lens. Focusing is spot on.

I enjoy photographing old churches, and particularly their stained glass, and I like those here. Not too fond of the heavy starbursts in 4 and 7, preferring those in 3.

I'm enjoying the gull photos, especially 'Close Fly By'.
