Has anyone noticed that there seem to be very few insects about at the moment? I was expecting to see quite a few more on our allotment in Southend-on-Sea with the warmer weather but the opposite is the case. Very few Honeybees; the occasional bumblebee ditto hoverflies and butterflies. There is even a dearth of aphids at the moment, not that I am complaining on that score. Even a trip to Kew Gardens last Saturday proved disappointing insect wise. Any thoughts Pentaxians?

Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. It has reminded me of those halcyon days of Pan F; FP3 and HPS from my time at Ilford Films.

If anyone has got cleavers aka Goose Grass in their garden, this too can be used as a developer according to this https://www.facebook.com/groups/1833878160190581/posts/4027565250821850/

There is also a report of Canadian photographer who uses Cannabis flower as a monochrome developer!! Looks as though there is no end to the possibilities

I have just come across the following method of developing black and white negative film https://www.shetnews.co.uk/2025/07/30/vintage-photography-enthusiast-testing-sea...

Do forum members think that it might catch on?
