I'm moving to that philosophy and noted I'm taking less photos, but probbaly better (at least I hope).
If I went over the shyness (sometimes you can't take pictures of people, can you? so you have to ask!), it would be even better.
Positive/negative aspect of London is that is overcrowded...so it's a pain when you area at main monuments but at the same time they do not care what do you do with your camera!

To start with, I should do a proper monitor calibration, and so on
what I'm doing now is only rotate, crop and use automatic exposure and colour.

Is there the AE lock and the exposure compensation button?
thank you

maybe the question is silly, but I'm going for 2 days to London.
Apart from the usual highlights (St Paul's Cathedral, Millenium Bridge, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, LOndon eye), which are good photographic places?
even something not well known but easily reachable by public transport?
Portobello Market and Camden Market should be colourful.
What about Greenwich?
other suggestions?
thank you

I know they are on personal preferences, but any setting (saturation, etc.) recommended to improve IQ on a k20d?
I found some regarding k200d (reduce saturation)
thank you

Just had a look and they are now selling K20D/K10D batteries for £9.97.
The grip has also gone down to £44.97
Personally, I much prefer the Li-Ion battery to AAs.
Dan
As Jessop's battery grip is no more available fort home delivery, does anyone know a good third part one?
Or do you recommend to wait for a new sale, as it is not so urgent?
thanks

So, to sum up, both f1.4 and 1.7 are ok, and also f2.0 (cheaper) and 1.2 (more expensive).
I would say the worst aspect of a pure MF is that you can't have an AF if you need it, but the difference in price is huge. about £30 against £155 for the cheapest 50mm AF f1,4 (no many shops sell it)

I'm not confident I can get good result with MF. Is it only because I'm lazy to shot in AF? In other words, is it easy to shoot with MF, without be able to have the AF?
For curiosity, why there are so many 50mm manual focus lens on sale?

A lot of different types (models, apertures, etc) of 50 mm lenses are on ebay or on the second hand market.
pentax 50mm
I suppose everyone is compatible with k20d, but which one of them is good quality?
1- Is bigger aperture always equivalent to better quality?
2- and above all, which are advantages /disadvantages of manual focus?
I read old post, they says to stay on the "A" series. Any other suggestion?
thank you

Can't you get to the shop Max? It's in Cornwall St IIRC. That's what I did - reserved for in-store pick up then dropped in and had a chuckle at the advice they were giving.
Actually the website doesn't give me any available in that store.
When did you get one?
