Shot 1: Terrific, looks real.
Shot 2: Confusing. If orphaned from shot 1, it'd take too long to figure out what it was a picture of.

Pete,
Hong Kong prices usually appear to be very good at first. Check the small print for delivery charges. There could be duty and/or VAT to pay on imported items.

Might I suggest that cheating HM Customs out of duty and/or VAT is perhaps not the best course of action for somebody wishing to have a career in the police force.

Regards,

I had the same problem. To accomodate this odd behaviour, once I'd discovered it, I simply remove the grip battery when the indicator shows half full. Then the body uses the in-body battery for the next 500 or so shots allowing plenty of time to recharge the grip battery.

I also swap batteries between body and grip between uses/charges to maintain an even amount of use of each battery.

Ok… I have taken a small considered risk and bought the 21mm f/3.2. Thanks for the 'heads up' SMC!

I feel the same way about sellers who can't string sentences together and have poor spelling etc. but this seller has got respectable/acceptable feedback, plus the fact that I want to try this lens out for myself and the fact that my finger started getting itchy when it hovered over the 'BIN' button.

I will keep this thread updated with any future joy/sorrow that results from this (slightly) impetuous purchase

Hmm, good plan. Buy as one user, sell as another. I should try it

This is a very popular lens and has undergone several changes over the years. I have the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super. I believe htere is also a Macro Super II variant, and your DG version.

If you can supply the complete model number, others may contribute but the different versions have different capabilities. For instance, mine has the macro facility, but only at 300mm. Other versions can be used in macro mode between 200-300mm.

So, if we put a 12-24mm rectilinear lens on, but first fill the body with water . . .

No, that's probably not a good idea.

No offence intended at all - I'm genuinely trying to understand what people like about photographs like that.
I think the fish-eye perspective is one that you either like, or don't like. Personally, I don't like it. Nevertheless, some images taken with this lens are 'impressive'. Whether it's the apparant scale of the subject, the perceived enormity of the angle of view, I don't know.

I much prefer the more 'normal' rectilinear perspective of the DA12-24mm lens.

Printed manuals are obsoleted as soon as the first firmware update.

Having tried the Sigma 150mm Macro on a C%^&n at the weekend I would love one, but Sigma don't make it with a Pentax fitting.
They will if Pentax are producing one.
