I doubt it's a 'new' version, apparantly it was the last one that Sigma (UK) had in stock.

I guess any new version will have HSM focussing. Not much use for macro work as I only ever use manual focus.

The 150mm lens is 1:2.8, the 180mm is a little slower at 1:3.5.

My holy grail was a Pentax 200mm Macro . . . I gave up on that quest and this was the closest I could find.

And . . . there's always a down side . . . my AF140C ring flash doesn't fit it.

According to the Sigma site they don't. Could be a long wait if you order one

They do make the 180mm in Pentax fit though.
My Sigma 180mm Macro is winging it's way from SRS (I hope) and should be here any day. If I get any decent results to at least match Clarky's, I'll post them.

. . . it's got a bash on the filter ring that makes it very hard to get a filter on . . .
Tools are available to reform the filter ring. Alternatively it'd be a quick and inexpensive job for a repair centre like www.harrowtechnical.co.uk or www.asahiphoto.co.uk . Both advertise in the heading above. I have personal experience of Harrow Technical and can recommend them.

Another option is to use a cheap metal framed filter (actually a plastic framed one might be easier to fit), remove the glass and any retaining rings, and screw it permanently on the lens. You'll never need to take it off and you have a new thread for additional filters but a tad further from the lens so reflections might creep in.

Any of these remedies would mean you get to keep it, and if you advertise it as damaged, it's immediately devalued anyway.

Just my thoughts, hope it helps.

Why sell such a collection of lenses?

The *istD can use them with no issues, the K10D (and presumably the K20D) can use them with a change of focussing screen (according to some here).

Unless you need AF, I'd keep them, the rarer ones at least.

You have some excellent glass there.

Sounds like you'll need a flash meter.

I can recommend the Sekonic L358 Flash Master which has a standard PC socket to trigger flash heads. An optional radio trigger module is available.

The Sekonic L308s Flashmate may well fit your budget, but has no radio trigger option.

Nice to find another Land Rover enthusiast on the forum. I don't have one at the moment but I've had a Series 3 Hard top 2.25 Petrol, a Defender 110 CSW TDI 200, and finally a P38 Range Rover 2.5 DSE. I converted the 110 to a camper for some of our best holidays in France.

Cheers,

..... and no you really don't need to know why I have a diver's bottle by the front door (indeed it's more fun guessing especially as I don't go diving).

So why is it there? My guess is that in your spare time you are an entertainer at childrens' parties, and need a good way to blow up balloons.

Version 3 is the one to have if you have a K10D or newer . . .

I had a Kiron made Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm lens but I was a little disappointed with the colours it produced when compared to those from a SMCP-F 70-210. I sold it.

Lovely shots, I particularly like the last one as . . . . beep beep . . . immediately sprang to my mind.
