To summarize:-

SMC Pentax = oldest K-mount lens, large and heavy compared to more modern versions. Manual Focus (MF), no A setting on aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-M = Smaller, lighter range of lenses. MF, no A setting on aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-A = Updated versions of M series. Introduced for the automatic exposure cameras like the Super-A. MF, has the A setting on aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-F = The first range of auto focus (AF) lenses. Has the A setting on the aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-FA = The last range of AF lenses having an aperture ring for 35mm film cameras.
SMC Pentax-FAJ = The first range of AF lenses requiring the body to set the aperture as it has no aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-DA = The first of the 'Optimized for digital' range of lenses to suit the APS-C sensor size. AF, no aperture ring.
SMC Pentax-DFA = A range of lenses to suit both 35mm film and digital cameras. AF, has the A setting on aperture ring.

I don't think I've missed any.

Some lenses in most of these ranges also have the * (star) suffix denoting that they are of the highest quality construction and image quality. The 'Limited' lenses also have superior qualities to other lenses in the same range (FA and DA).

An excellent resource for K mount lens data can be found here.

Give the guy a break he just wants an easy sale.

My guess is that knock off gear is flogged down the pub.

You may well be right mike but the OP could have informed us of his/her ebay user name or included a link to his/her auctions.

To the OP. It's against ebay rules to offer an item for sale elsewhere when it's in a current auction.

1st post from a new member offering to sell HAC goods. Questionable. How are we to know that these items did not recently belong to someone else? Of course this sale may well be genuine and I've no desire to offend the OP if it is, but how do we know?

HAC = Highly Attractive Consumable.

The 100-300 already has the same 35mm equivelant field of view as a 150-450. Multiply that by the 1.4 that the T/C will provide and you have a massive 210-630mm. You'll have trouble keeping it still enough at the long end.

The 18-55 is not necessary. You have other faster lenses covering that range. It doesn't save much weight though.
Thinking about it, you could save more weight by leaving the 24-70 behind. If you want to be really radical, just take the two Pentax lenses. You'll have everything from 18-200mm covered at least, if not in low light.

I don't quite understand why you would take a 24-70/2.8 and a 17-35/2.8. They've got to both be quite heavy. If you need the speed, surely just the 24-70 would do as it covers the range of the other.

, , , so how do you alter the depth of field on these cameras and lenses, sorry about the ignorance but i'm new to digital photography,
Depth of field (DOF) is determined by the aperture setting. The larger the aperture (smaller f number) the narrower the DOF.

Are you new to photography in general, not just digital?

Have a look at the Raynox range. They are very good in my opinion.
