The last two are my best - I think, others a bit too light?, but this is just a first time out with this Vivitar 75-205 f3.8 vintage lens I acquired this week from the 'Bay
It's the single ring not the other double ring, and I must say I'm shocked at how good it is. I compared best I could from some archive shots I took on a Pentax DFA* 70-200 f2.8, (a lens I no longer have BTW) and dare I say it's 'knocking right on the door'. At f8 these shots were taken, I didn't try any lower, and there is no CA and sharpness appears as good as best I can tell, the comparison pics are different locations unfortunately, in the 3rd pic the man could be identified IMHO.

[quote:3496ace15f="MikeInDevon"]Yes, No.1 is very much the pick of the bunch for me.

Me too.

It's a nice balance between the two, now becomes an individuals choice, I'm undecided but the boss prefers the original one before denoise
Cracking pictures.

Hmm, I can't but help preferring the originals before the denoise and sharpening, but yeah I get they are sharper after. I do like to see' the Milky Way look I guess, the Nebula shots will probably work for me though - sometimes

Difficult to get everything right with such a tonal range, but you've done a pretty good job - especially on that 2nd shot
Thank you, I thought it popped better than the first.

K1 mkII and DFA 28-105. Not SOOC as I underexposed a bit too much, so tweaked in RT and boosted contrast and a bit of Graduated filter in PP too.
I can't help but think of Dinosaurs when looking at these.
Taken just before noon today in Heybrooke Bay, Devon.
