Love the tonal range in that first image - Nice
Thank you both, It was my favourite too, I did spend more time on it, eg. Lifting the shadows, but what caught my eye initially was the light shining on the wet pebbles.

After today's walk down at Heybrooke Bay, and some brief playing in RT here is the result.

That last post should be the first post in a new thread headed 'Old Glass', rather than hidden at the end of a classified ad thread. It might start an interesting discussion/debate.

K1 mk2 and the SMC-M 135mm f3.5 lens, had the K1 set to B/W so decided to leave as is, just a few adjustments in GIMP and a final one using a Tone Mapping/Retinex for fun.

5. The final one (just for fun) using the Tone Mapping sub option 'Retinex', I did try toning it down but it resisted to some extent LOL.

Are they SOOC? The sky is the reason for the question.

I post processed in Rawtherapee as always except some rare times in ART. I currently have the k1 set to b/w and if viewing in camera or on PC it's b/w whereas fortunately for me, opening in RT brings up colour. I was pleasantly surprised at the sky too, no changing done to it. ( I can't remember if I tweaked the contrast a bit, don't think so.)
The 210mm evening shot was edited ever so slightly by bringing down the exposure which showed the red sky tinge more as it actually was, to my taste anyway.

Taken very little of late, but here is one from yesterday evening, handheld resting on a rail, 1/13th sec at 210mm so not sharp but I thought I would share it as I like it. The specs are Gulls not dust BTW. Others are 'industrial' colour shots taken during the day with the Sigma Superwide II 24mm all with K1 mk2.

Same here as Lubbyman, but I'm only on a mobile. Even so it looks OK on the arrows. This is surely not wide open, what f stop is used?

I do like images of steam railway in mono, it just goes with the times, if you see what I mean. Although sometimes colour does it justice too. Great photos.

Thanks, loadoftripe. These are mono converted images. The sky darkening was through pp, no infrared. For these images inspiration is from- BW VISION.COM by Joel Tjintjelaar.
Thank you for the info, great inspiring images.

I like all these but if pressed my favourite is number 4.
May I ask about the dark sky, did you play in pp changing red and blue channels or use infrared somehow?
