Being a relative newcomer to photography, i still don't understand
why a lens designed for a digital camera needs to be quoted as having a crop factor compared to 35mm. Surely if it designed for the digital sized sensor no other dimension need to be taken into consideration.

For a newcomer to photography, can somebody explain what is meant by say a 100% crop or a 50% crop , how do these figures relate to the original taken with a K10D.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Mongoose,
By loosing infinity focus, is this because of the thickness of the adapter,if not why does this happen

Thanks for everybody's replies, i'll take them all into consideration, but i think the idea of just putting on the lens and seeing if the view i get through the viewfinder is ok is probably the one to go for'

As a newcomer, when i read about lenses, they always seem to say that for digital camera equivalent multiply by 1.5 in the case of the K10D, i.e a 70mm to 300mm is the same on a K10D as a 105mm to 400mm. So if the DA range is specifically designed for digital does this remove this multiplication factor, and if so is this lens equal to divide by 1.5 to convert to 35mm.

Hi anybody out there,
As a relative newcomer to DSLR, can somebody explain why i can set the aperture on my Tamron to 4, and it stays there for all focal lengths, i thought there was a range i.e it should be 5.6 at 300mm. Also anybody know what happens inside the lens when you switch the macro switch.
If these questions have already been asked, apologies and point me in the right direction for the answers.
