Super shots of a highly photogenic location. Haven't been there for a long time. You did well to find it so quiet!

Thanks for your generous comment, John - always a pleasure to read your thoughts. One thing you could perhaps expand on is your feeling of "not being able to enjoy them at a larger size"? When I click on an individual image (not just my own), it shows virtually full screen in a new window with "Pentax User Close" at the top to return to the original post. I've always assumed that this is what you mean when you have added "best viewed large" to postings of your own, which certainly makes a big difference to how an image shows on screen. Am I missing something here?

Wait a mo! I just discovered something I had not known before: if I click on an upright image, it appears in a new window (and here's what I just found out!) with details of camera, ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed and Focal length also visible if I scroll down below the image.
These details are apparently only visible beneath upright images, not landscape ones; and upright images definitely appear much larger than landscape ones. All of this in itself seems odd to me! I don't have any explanation for it (and without your comment, John, I probably would be unaware of it, so thanks for waking me up to it!)

I'm probably writiing all this in the wrong place now, so if anyone would like to respond elsewhere on the site, I'll keep a lookout there!

Apologies for hugging so much space! Probably won't happen again (this year, anyway!)

New year, new spring growth - I love it! To me, everything seems pristinely attractive, even the simplest aspects of nature. Hope you agree!

Thanks for your comments, chaps. Particularly pleased by your comment on the "wider"shots, John - I agree that what looks lovely in reality can be quite hard to reproduce, even with Pentax!

Apologies if these offend anyone! I did think the bluebell bandwagon had gone for this year, then I took a walk in a local park and was taken aback by/couldn't resist the sheer quantity of the subject matter! If it doesn't float your boat, as I believe the saying goes, feel free to sail away!

As you say, not the easiest lens to work with on this kind of subject - but that's not to say these are poor portrayals, because they're not! No. 5 benefits, I think, from a comparatively distant standpoint and is a lovely photo; the bokeh in no.1 is really effective in isolating the subject; and the contrast between light and dark in no. 4 is just the kind of effect that I aim for in lots of my own attempts at this kind of photo. As usual - a lovely set!

Wasn't sure how some of these would come out, but I'm happy enough to post them! K70 + DA 18-135. All thoughts welcome!

Really like these! Up our way, there's not much that's anywhere near to providing such great subject matter. Lovely images, all of them.
